P Diddy

Scroll down to see the photo of the first time I met P Diddy.

P Diddy

I've spoken to P Diddy on the phone!
I was interviewed to Cannes to do it in person but I couldnt make it because of commitments in the office. So annoying!
At first, I was really impressed that a busy star like P Diddy was on the phone to me, but then I realised that even one of most well-known people in the world appreciates every bit of publicity he can get.
Throughout our 10 minute chat, he name-dropped Ciroc vodka (who sponsor him), his new fragrance (Unforgiveable Black) and his DVD Raisin in The Sun.
I was also impressed by how good he was dodging questions. Confidence in interviews is vital for any celeb and boy was Diddy confidednt. If he didnt like a qs he tried to flirt with me, by saying "awww come on baby girl." A smooth act..
Meeting some other bands from Sony tonight like The Hoosiers and Sandi Thom. Wonder how they will compare.

amy winehouse

Tonight's case study is Amy Winehouse. Met her (and her spotty skin) at the Ivor Novello awards at The Grosvenor Hotel on Park Lane in London.
The first thing I spotted was her massive beehive. That girl has a unique look.
But what made her really stand out was her massive entourage. I think there must have been about 4 people around her at all times plus her dad Mitch and mum Janis.
So lessons for everyone from tonight - image and entourages are vital if you wanna be famous. It's not hard to groom yourself differently. Why not try changing your hair parting? Or wearing loud shirts?
If you havent got an entourage yet, then a simple trick is to get some friends to be your crew and call your name wherever you go.
And lessons for me from tonight - celebrities are wiser than you think. I never imagined Amy Winehouse would read my column, but when I introduced myself she told me things that made me think she knew who I was. And she was quite friendly about it, giving me a message for her man Blake in prison.

my schedule

After having bumped into Brad Pitt at the Cannes film festival last week, the celebrities on this week's 'hit-list' are P Diddy and Amy Winehouse.
I'm after a chat with Diddy, who is in Cannes for a party on Thursday on Friday night, (3 days).
I'm after a search of Amy Winehouse's bins. I haven't done it myself but journalists for Loaded magazine have and I want to buy it from them.
Any lessons to learn from this?
Just that celebrities should be careful what they put in their bins. Journalists will make a story out of everything.
And that Cannes is great fun. Brad Pitt is hot!
Apologies if this blog is a little random. I didnt get much time with Brad but thought the pic was a good representation of what I do for my job as a journalist.

my first blog entry

I am a journalist for a national newspaper. I write about celebrities.
I've done it for a long time and I've noticed celebrities share common characteristics. These can be self-taught. I reckon everyone can achieve fame.
I'm going to put it to the test by seeing if I can become famous myself.
I'l do it by paying special attention to the people I meet doing my job. I'll tell you all the things you can learn as well as the things you should avoid.
That will give you an insight into the world of celebrity 'parties'.
But trust me, it's hard work...
